La Donna C.I. Hall is the CEO and Founder of the H.O.O.D Foundation (Helping Others Overcome Difficulties). Ms. Hall created the foundation with a mission to help other overcome similar hardships that she experienced while growing up on the South Side of Chicago. Committed to making a difference, she molded her education and career to prepare herself to serve neighborhoods and populations in need.
"I grow up during the social and economic decline of vibrant and safe neighborhoods. Drugs started to take a toll on my community while tearing down the family structure through addiction and incarceration.
The drug epidemic caused a generation gap in parenting while leaving a lot of youth under poor supervision or alternative living arrangements. Due to this phenomenon, there where low- expectations for youth especially young women like myself. As I started to study and understand the cause of my community conditions, I became passionate about creating opportunities for others to be successful."
